MCCPS Food Services Department

Nourishing Success, One Meal at a Time

At MCCPS, the mission of the Food Services Department is to increase our students’ success by providing nutritionally balanced meals every day.

Our team works collaboratively to prepare all meals from scratch, using only the best ingredients. We focus on:

  • Low-fat proteins
  • Whole wheat grains and pastas
  • Fresh fruits and vegetables are sourced from local farmers throughout the school year

We are dedicated to making your child’s meal experience at school positive and enjoyable.

At MCCPS, we believe good nutrition and learning go hand in hand — because when students eat well, they learn better.

Nutrition By the Numbers

  • 40% of a child’s daily nutrients come from school meals
  • School meals support academic achievement, improve health, and lower obesity rates
  • Children consume more milk, fruits, and vegetables when they eat school lunch

Birthday Treats

Birthdays are very exciting occasions for your children. MCCPS would like to celebrate their day with them and their fellow classmates. With state dietary regulations and concerns with various food allergies, as well as the new protocols for safety concerns, many public schools have eliminated the practice of celebrating completely. Our school would like to continue this tradition, and we have found a good compromise to keep a safe environment for all students. We ask for your support with this policy. School policy does not permit the bringing in of any food items for birthdays and celebrations during school. However, we would like to give you the opportunity to order celebratory treats made from scratch by the Food Department. You can find out more here
