Annual Charge Of The MCCPS PTO

The MCCPS PTO developed the guidelines below during a 2008 reorganization effort in order to provide continuance and sustainability. The events listed below are the backbone of our responsibilities yet as with anything we hold dear we do all that we can to aide, encourage and inspire our community.

Organization and delivery of the summer welcome packet

                                                                     (Dues info, directory opt out etc)

Welcome to Charter event. (late summer or ASAP at start of school)

Kleenex and Confetti Coffee (1st day of school)

Compilation of information, printing and delivery of school directory. (ASAP)

Prioritize Go-To-List (to be used as main vehicle for all volunteer efforts)

Keep the PTO page of the MCCPS website current.

                                            (as well as all other public forms of communication)

Provide monthly opportunities to socialize and enlighten.

Encourage any and all events that promote socialization and interaction for all members of the community on all levels. i.e. parent/teacher, multi grade levels, grade specific, parent/child, surrounding community involvement and inclusion.

Provide support to the teachers and staff often and as appropriate.

                                   Weddings, births, milestones, tragedies and triumphs etc.....

Gift Book Program

Box Top, Labels for Education programs. (plus any other fundraising opportunities that compliment such as cell phone donations)

Outdoor Classroom support.

Yearbook support.

Grant writing support

Teacher Appreciation Week (inc. but not limited to the luncheon)

Film Festival Week (assist with preparation and arrange chaperones)**

PTO enrichment week (i.e. careers, visit enrichment, community service day/activities)**

Spirit Week (specifically field day,events/activities, volunteers, slushies!!)**

** to be provided along with support and collaboration from

                                                                          the Teachers and Staff of MCCPS.

Additional activities/opportunities to be held according to the demands of the present community and with collaboration of the present PTO members and it's Officers.

The PTO should make every effort to be visible/available

during all school events.
