Ms O’Dwyer then began the formal business of the meeting, introducing the Special Meeting as Board Retreat, with a focus on defining the role of Trustees and establishing a vision and goals for the School moving forward.  She informed the Board that this would be the first session of a two to three session retreat to be completed over the coming weeks.

Ms. O’Dwyer then proceeded to share with Trustees a presentation she had prepared.  The outline of her presentation is attached.   There was extensive discussion among the Trustees about the various roles of the Board.

Ms O’Dwyer outlined the process for continued Board Retreat sessions including Board and Committee Evaluations, and Board and Committee Goal Seating introductions.  She explained it was her intent for the Board to continue effort in these areas at upcoming sessions of the Board Retreat.  There was limited discussion among Trustees about how we will achieve this in future sessions.
