MUSIC NOTES for Sep. 17th 2009

1. A competition for a new school song has started! The school song we have now is great, but we are looking to have another song written by a student. It’s open to all grades and the due date is exhibition, November 23rd.  E-mail asmith@marbleheadcharter.com entries or set up a time with Ms. Smith to share your song.

2. If you want a music goal sign up with Ms. Smith on the MAP sign-up sheet, which is located on the wall, outside the 7th grade classrooms. New band members are encouraged to make a practice goal.

3. LESSONS, LESSONS, AND LESSONS! If you want private lessons woodwinds, brass, and drums teachers are available for after school lessons. There are also many recommendations for other instruments  including piano, guitar, and voice.
Many teachers will accommodate to your schedule and travel to your house. Please e-mail Ms. Smith for their contact information.

4. The MCCPS band has started!  We are off to an  fun and successful start!
The 5th-8th grade band meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30-8:15am. Band members must eat breakfast before band please!
