4th Grade

2008-09

4th graders made collages using their photos to illustrate their immigration stories.

4th grade – Landscapes
4th graders used oil pastels and watercolors to create these pictures of landscapes typical of the American states they were studying in global studies.

5th Grade

2008-09

5th graders were inspired by Inca and Maya artifacts and mythology to create their clay masks.

5th grade –Mandalas-For this project, 5th graders measured angles to divide their circles evenly and create colorful symmetrical shapes and designs.

6th Grade

Term 2 Exhibition Project: These are tessellations made by 6th graders using reflection. They started with an equilateral triangle and ended up with a colorful and perfectly tessellated hexagon.

7th Grade

7th graders made those "repousse" plates in conjunction with their study of Mesopotamia.

7th grade – Egyptian Frescoes
These frescoes were made by 7th graders. They used plaster and watercolors to illustrate their Egyptian parody, which had to show elements of Ancient Egyptian style of painting applied to a contemporary scene.

8th Grade

8th graders made these sculptures out of wire, foil and plaster gauze, before painting them with acrylics.

8th grade – Pastel Landscapes
After looking at works from the Hudson River School artists, 8th graders painted landscapes using soft pastels.
